time management
This is the major writing project for GEO101 – It requires some time management – and is not a projject that you want to sneak up on you. An example/template (one is a pdf file one is a doc file) for the type of paper I am expecting is posted to the handout portlet and attached to this assignment. The basic parameters of this paper are:
1. Must be no less than 600 words and no longer than 900. 2. Must use Tahoma font, must use size 11 pitch 3. Must have 1 inch margins. 3. Must use a header that includes your name and the course code for the class. 4. Must include a bibliography of the required reading sources and all other sources referenced to produce this theme. 5. Must contain proper in text citations for quotes and interpretations gleened from the reading sources. 6. Finally, it must meet guidelines given in handout titled Grading Rubric.
Read the Chapter titled Techniques of Geographic Analysis.
In addition on to the textbook reading, read Jack Hitt, Atlas Shrugged. This article is posted to the Handout Portlet, under Weekly Reading Assignments.
After reading these pieces produce a theme paper, according to the basic parameters given, that either supports and refutes the following:
‘like statistics, maps will…(have become) not hard nuggets of truth but numerical putty of opinion”
