Respiratory problems are widespread today as they are easier to spread in populated areas. Pneumonia is among the significant respiratory illnesses affecting people at all stages. However, nurses can prioritize various interventions to help patients to improve their health conditions. While providing care, planning is critical in establishing better interventions that are effective for the patient’s conditions. First, they can start by enhancing the airway patency. Nurses improve the airway patency by removing secretions as they interfere with the exchange of gases in the lungs and slow the recovery process. They also ensure enough hydration of two to three liters every day. The hydration process helps to loosen and thin pulmonary secretion. In addition, they conduct humidification enhances ventilation and moderate secretions. Nurses also conduct coughing practices for their patients to improve their potency. Further, conducting exertion in the chest helps to mobilize and ease secretions. Conducting airway potency would be vital for improving the patients’ oxygenation. The airway clearance helps to aid in loosening the thick and sticky mucus in the lungs, reducing infections, and improving lung performance.

Secondly, promoting rest and preserving energy is essential in controlling the straining and worsening of the pneumonia symptoms. The method enables patients to presume a relaxed position to enhance breathing and rest and frequently change positions to boost secretion clearance and ventilation. Having enough rests on retaining better progress toward rest and evading relapses (The American Lung Association, 2021). The third strategy is taking fluid and maintaining better nutrition. Consuming more than two liters of water daily aids in replacing the lost insensible fluid. Consuming fluids with electrolytes would help the patients’ calories, fluid, and electrolytes. In addition, nurses suggest nutritious beverages to help reinstate patients’ better nutrition. Finally, nurses enhance the patients’ knowledge, which helps the patients understand the causes and ways to manage the conditions. Also, they instruct patients on the factors that can lead to the development of the illness. Further, the patients would enable them, patients, to verbalize and have a better understanding of the desired therapeutic regimen. They will also be more willing to take part and comply with the treatment programs designed for their conditions. Furthermore, they will recognize how pneumonia can be transmitted and control themselves from transmitting it to other people.
