Introduction This assignment is the second segment of a two part district-wide assessment that all speech students at FSW will be required to finish. You are to use your speech preparation outline to help you create speaking notes for this video. You may use two note cards no larger than 4″ x 6″ for the notes. Do not use the outline or a script when you record. You are required to add electronic slides to coordinate with the introduction, body and conclusion of the speech. You will coordinate the video file and the powerpoint file in Kaltura. You will then upload the new file into My Media in Canvas so that you can post it on the discussion board for this assignment. Allow plenty of time to upload the file!! The two parts make up 20% of your grade total for this course. Here are the FSW guidelines for the entire two part assignment. If a student turns in an outline and does not do the speech, or a speech without an outline, the student will receive a zero for both assignments. Performing the Video–Content You will deliver a speech based on your graded Informative Speech Preparation Outline. You will include a Powerpoint Presentation that you uploaded into your video file using Kaltura. You must make a PowerPoint slide show and add it to the video. You can add more slides and images–10 to 12 slides is typical for this time limit. Performing the Video–Delivery You need to stand. Dress in business casual attire. Start with a full body shot. Before you actually start talking, move towards the camera at waist up and stay there. Hold fairly still and balance yourself evenly on both feet. Natural hand gestures are fine. You are allowed two note cards no larger than 4″ by 6″ You will use extemporaneous style of vocal delivery. Do not read a script. The time limit is 5 to 7 minutes There will be a 1 point deduction for every 15 seconds under or 15 seconds over the time limit.
