Ukraine Russia Conflict and NATO’s involvement based on Utilitarian Framework
This essay should revolve around the fact that the involvement of NATO is a slippery slope. The utilitarianism framework suggests that whatever action will make more people happy and safe (greater good), then that action should be undergone. The essay should therefore show both sides – one: NATO’s involvement has the potential of saving the Ukrainian population, however two: the involvement of NATO could potentially cause greater damage, as threatened by Putin. Additionally, it should be discussed that Russia is infringing on Ukraines self-determination, and this has to be punished and or stopped. Sanctions should also be discussed.
Sources that are attached will be helpful for the utilitarian framework as well as the self-determination point, but other more recent information on Ukraine and Russia should be found through big media outlets. Additionally, this essay has to contain a “problem” – which is the infringement of self-determination by Russia on Ukraine, and the lack of international action due to several reasons. A counter argument should also be presented.
