This is an argumentative research paper, so you must develop a claim which takes a specific stance/side in that argument
1. Was it necessary to add the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution?
2. Did the Louisiana Purchase have a more positive or negative effect on the United States’ political, economic, and social history?
Bill of Rights
• Include 1-1/12 pages of context of why the Bill of Rights were added.
• Consider focusing on 3-5 rights within the Bill of Rights and not all ten.
Louisiana Purchase
• Include 1-1/12 pages of context on Jefferson’s decision to buy the Louisiana Territory.
• Consider how the purchase impacted farming, immigration, Native Americans, and slavery.

Synthesis refers to combining the sources and your position to form a cohesive, supported argument and accurately citing sources. Your argument should be central; the sources should support this argument. Avoid merely summarizing sources.
