What Should an Interview Presentation Look Like?
Think of your interview presentation as a sales pitch.
Your goal is to convince the human resources team that you are the best candidate for the job – you already impressed them enough with your resume to be called in for an interview…
Do not use job interview questions for your slide titles – Your slide titles are listed below as required slides to include in your presentation.
Employers request interview presentations for a few simple reasons:
Covid – some companies want to do everything virtually and not face to face.
To assess your communication and public speaking skills. Especially if you record yourself going through this presentation to them. This is not required however if you choose to that is fine too – please let me know via email if you need help doing that.
To understand whether you are the right cultural fit for the company.
To develop a better sense of how well versed you are in the domain.
So your first job is to make sure that your presentation fits the criteria. Go through the company’s job descriiption again and jot down all the candidate requirements.
What slides you must include (you may add more but these listed below are required):
Opening Slide
Quick Bio/Personal Summary
Career Path
Education time line (be creative be sure it is in either bullet format or a drawn out time line.
Key Skills and Expertise
Past employment ( list only those that apply to the job your are applying for)
Case studies/examples of the problems you have solved at your current job/past jobs
Your mission/vision for your job or future job.
What exactly you can bring in as the candidate

A little about me (please let me know if you need more)
My name is Monica Allen and I live in Converse, TX. Converse is on the outskirts of San Antonio. I grew up a military brat. My dad served 20 years in the USAF. One interesting fact about me is that being in a military family I started preschool at Randolph Elementary School and graduated from Randolph High School. That is pretty much unheard of for military children.
My degree is Applied Science specializing in health science. What do I plan to do with that degree you ask? Honestly, I don’t know. I received my Associates of Science in pre-nursing over 20 years ago. I started my bachelors degree back in 2002 and never finished. I decided that getting my degree was just a personal goal for me. I should graduate summer 1 2022. I’m very excited to be able to say I have my bachelors degree.
I medically retired from the United States Postal Service in 2017 after 17 years of service and currently I work as a real estate agent. This real estate market has kept me pretty busy the past year. At this point I plan to stay in real estate even after I graduate. I would like to eventually get into real estate investing: flipping and buy and hold for rentals.
I am a mother to a 23 year old daughter. She was a student at Texas State University and just decided school wasn’t for her. She has recently moved out and I’m an empty nester. I dedicated most of my life to her so now I’m trying to find me again. I must say that’s not that easy of a task during a pandemic. Between school and work I honestly don’t have much me time anyway.
