Article critique term paper

What is included in an article critique?

Below is the sample format. An article critique has four main parts, you must label each part, it will keep you focused on the proper content in each. Do NOT include personal experiences.
Introduction (one or two paragraphs at the most!)
Include an introductory paragraph that includes the following:
The author’s name(s) and the title of the article
The author’s main points
Summary (2 or 3 paragraphs at the most)
A discuss of the following in your own words:
Expand on the main points of the article
The arguments presented in the article
The findings/conclusions of the article
Critique (1 or 2 paragraphs at the most)
Critique the article by doing the following:

Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article that you noted while critically reading it.
State your informed opinions about the clarity, relevancy of the article, using specific examples from the article to support your statements.
Are there any holes in the author’s argument?
Did the author misrepresent evidence or add bias to the evidence?
Do NOT include whether or not you liked the article, but rather did the author do their job they set out to do.
Do NOT use the word “I”, “I found the article interesting”, “I liked the way the author wrote”. Instead say, “This article presented information this reader was unfamiliar with”, or “The author wrote in a clear manner that made it easy to follow”.

Conclusion (1 or 2 paragraphs at the most)
End your article critique with a conclusion that does the following:
Summarize the key points in the article, as well the key points from your own analysis.
Close with a comment about the significance of the research and a statement of future research needed in the field.

Format

Your report must be computer generated, with a 12-pt. easy to read font, double-spaced. Do not quadruple spaces between paragraphs. Do not use a bold font. Proof-read your paper several times and use the spell and grammar check. If writing is problematic for you, consider using the college’s Learning Center for assistance.

Cover Page: This paper must contain a cover page, consisting of the name of the course, the date, your name, my name, and the complete title, authors, and the journal in which it was published, exactly as it appears on the list I provided.

The Body of the Report: The body of the report must have the 4 sections labeled (see above)
