ASSIGNMENT 5: The Pollution Newsletter
We have spent time going over a few aspects of pollution to our planet. For this assignment, you will select one to highlight in more detail. This newsletter is meant to be short, 2 pages, and engaging.

Objectives
The purpose of this assignment is to cohesively explore, research, & process one aspect of pollution on our planet. creating a newsletter, you will engage in the science, societal, historical, and political perspectives. Here are potential topics to select: (select only ONE)

Directions
You will create a short newsletter (2 pages) about earth’s pollution to share with peers that are not in this class. The newsletter will be informative and visually engaging. The content sections are listed below with a short descriiption of what to include. You will research further to build out ~1 paragraph for each section (excluding Title). Each section should be engaging to read, and add new knowledge for the intended audience, include visuals where appropriate.
Title for your newsletter: Something original, and attention capturing, and specific about your focus.
World news briefing: Give an update on the current situation of your chosen topic. This can be in any view that you deem appropriate.
Science Highlight: Point out the chemistry involved.
Choose ONE of the following to add – it must directly relate to your topic and support/add knowledge in some manner
Politics: Provide information about any policy
Society: What are the effects on people? How has it changed society?
Local newsWhat connections are there between your topic and where you live?
Industry: Where/how/what does industry have to do with your chosen topic?
Weather: How does weather play a role, or is impacted by chosen topic?
Choose ONE of the following to add – it must directly relate to your topic and support/add knowledge in some manner
Editorials– What is your opinion about some aspect related to the topic?
History– What happened in the past that has impacted today?
Comics– Make your own! Must be original content.
Crossword or other learning puzzle – make your own with learning about the topic in mind.
TV / Movie summary– Is there a show/movie that has the topic highlighted in some aspect? Or create a fictitious one and summarize.
Classified ads – What type of items / jobs / problems / solutions related to the topic could be advertised?
Include 2 visuals that add meaning, reference each figure in the text, and a descriiptive caption to each figure.
Include a list of reference links, or citations. Minimum two references (not including the reference linked here above)
