* Many Americans have called Lt. Watada and Edward Snowden “traitors” to the US. Others have called them heroes. Many other Americans have called President Bush a war criminal. Others have called him a great leader. What are these accusations based on? What do they reveal about the deep divisions in the country?
* How did the War on Terror impact Americans’ Constitutional rights? Why?
* Why did/do so many Americans believe Iraq possessed a WMD program (which it did not)? Why did/do so many Americans believe there was a connection between Iraq and 9/11 (which there was not)?
* Echoing Smedley Butler’s account of World War I, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan transformed trillions of dollars in taxpayer money into profits for US corporations. How does that fit it with other trends during this period (for example, mass incarceration, and globalization)?
* What impact does massive spending on overseas military operations and domestic surveillance have on other public programs? On the freedoms and opportunities of Americans?…….

My professor is expecting me to only use the links and the textbook (which I linked) for this assignment. Please refer to chapter 30 (page 411) for examples from the textbook……You DO NOT have to have a works cited page, but instead use in text citations. Make clear where you are getting the information from. Instead of using the parentheses to cite something, ie (authors name), say something like “According to an article written by Ehren Watada…” or “President George W. Bush explains in his article that…” …….PLEASE USE AT LEAST 4 or 5 examples (it would be great if you did 5 or 6) from the links I gave you!!! and remember to cite them the way I just explained!!
