Find 3 different texts on the internet of 3 different genres
Three important things to describe in this Writing Task:
What you would name the genre of the text, or as we called it in a previous lecture, the micro-genre of the text. This part can be a title you invent yourself, and it doesn’t have to adhere to standard, well-known large general categories, like “horror” or “news.”
The audience. Remember, again, not to use general or vague terms for the audience—so again, don’t use something like “the audience is men,” or “the audience is 18 to 35 year olds.” Be specific, and say more about who your audience is, what their interests are, what knowledge of the subject they possess, and so on.
A few of the clues that you used, from the text itself, that helped you determine what genre the text is in and who the audience is. Here you should describe features you notice about the text itself, like where it was published, as well as specific features about the writing, like word choice, complex terminology, and rhetorical distance of the text.
