Creative writing

Must contain at least 11000 words of writing.
This can be accomplished using a variety of genres, including:
Short story
Short film
Poetry
Social media posts (think about “Black Box” from the last project!)
Video game
Comic book
Graphic novel
If you choose a more visual medium (short film, video game, comic book, etc.), you will need to submit evidence of writing and planning (such as a script), but word count may be negotiable as long as your project demonstrates excellent craftsmanship.
Your Adaptation may be completed on Google Docs or on another web platform of your choice, depending upon your choice of medium.

Must demonstrate a good-faith effort to adapt your Source Text to a new medium.
As we have learned, adaptation can be extremely difficult. Your job is to do your absolute best to translate your Source Text (including plot, characters, settings, etc.) to a new medium in a way that is creative, thoughtful, and thought-provoking.
Remember: The best adaptations don’t just faithfully recreate their Source Texts. They take advantage of the genres they are created in to result in something that is worthwhile on its own merits!

Must be school appropriate.
You have a lot of freedom here in terms of what you write—use it wisely
This component is your place to explain the choices you made in creating your adaptation.

Must explain the process you went through in developing your final product.
Questions to consider include:
Why did you choose the genre you selected for your Adaptation?
What challenges did you experience, and how did you overcome them?
What did you particularly enjoy about the experience?
What did you learn about adaptation by creating an adapted text of your own?

If your adaptation process was inspired by any particular existing works, explain that here!
For instance, you might write about how the creative adaptation of Clueless from Jane Austen’s Emma inspired you to write your adaptation as a modern-day update of an older text.
