Fashion 1107, Textile Museum Visit, winter 2015
March 15 th , 2016.
Time: 3:00-4:00.
Meet at the Museum at 2:45
Cost: $2.00 per student (bring exact change). Money will be collected from the students and given
to the museum authorities before the scheduled start time of the tour.

 Coats and bags will be stored in the museum closet. Please leave your valuables at home.
 Cameras can be used without flash.
 The Textile Museum only allows use of pencils (no pens) to write your report during the visit.
 No food or drink is allowed in the museum.
 Make sure to stay with your group for the duration of the visit. If you wish and time allows, you
can stay at the museum to revisit the exhibits.
The attendance is mandatory and will be taken at the museum, and only the students who have been
present and went through the museum tour would be allowed to hand in their reports.
Report requirements:
1. List the name of each exhibit section you went through. Your guide will tell you the name of
each exhibit section. The names are also written on a plaque at the entrance to each area; so, pay
attention.
2. Describe the exhibit that most impressed you, explain why, and provide details of your
impressions.
3. Explain how the information you found during the visit differs from your expectations before
the visit and describe how your understanding of textiles has changed.
4. Would you recommend the museum visit to other people in your field of study and why?
5. Type your report on one 8.5” x 11” sheet, 500 words max, double-sided if necessary. Make sure
to number your answers to correspond with the questions above. Include your name and student
number.
6. Hand in your report at the next class following the visit. No late submissions will be allowed.
Due date: March 22 nd , beginning of class; worth 5% of final mark
