My visit to the Chrysler Museum of Arts and Science

Each response must answer my topic completely. Topic, My visit to the Chrysler Museum. I did visit the Chrysler Museum of Art and Science in Norfolk. Va. about two weeks ago. I admired many pieces of Art but selected only two to write about. The museum is huge and there is so much to see and learn about. I was amazed at the number of people out on a Sunday afternoon. I did see a few pieces of glass art work. I did not visit the glass museum but plan to visit the glass museum on my next visit. Please write more about the art museum .
The first piece is The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne. I really like this piece of Art because of the representation of the Art being that of the Holy Family. I also like all the details of the baby Jesus hair, and eyes. Mary facial features very detailed and looks smooth. I did not touch the art because they ask us not to. I also admire the carvings of Mary braided hair. Saint Anne eyes and head and body garments are all very detailed. The artist is unknown but I chose to believe that his or her intent was to create a superior piece of Art that will always have a significant meaning to the Christian faith. It is dated from the 1400s and made of wood and polychrome.

The second piece of art I really like is the sculpture of cast aluminum The Torch Bearers, by Anna Hyatt Huntington, in 1953. It is a full-round sculpture and is located right in front of the entrance into the museum. A beautiful piece of work and very detailed. Both the men looks likes giants from a time in the past. May be warriors, healthy and strong, even the horse looks powerful. My first thoughts on this piece were a fellow solider reaching to help a wounded solider. However, as I was reading in the museum visitor guide it tells of and I quote A vigorous man on a horseback grasps a touch from a fallen comrade, symbolizing the passing of enlightenment from one generation to the next.
