This is a final exam for a Conflict and Resolution course. The text book for this course is: Introduction to Emergency Management Fifth Edition. Haddow, Bullock and Coppola (2014).

1.)Explain an instrumental versus expressive situation.
What communication techniques are used to address both? Why do these techniques work? How does problem-solving work into the instrumental/expressive relationship? What techniques are used in problem solving? Provide empirical sources
2.)Explain the practicality and ethical concerns of a pre-employment screening to prevent a violent outbreak. Pick a noble profession of your choice and discuss. Provide detailed examples.
3.)Explain the impact of stress on a human being. How can psychological debriefings impact stress? Is a mental health professional needed to assist in the stress debriefing after a disaster? What does the current literature say?
4.)Are pre-incident indicators effective at preventing violence? Why or why not? Provide a real life example from a news article or empirical source that supports or dismisses pre-incident indicators. Are these realistically spotted before an incident?
