FDR Smart X is FUJIFILM’s recently developed X-ray system. According to ("FDR
Smart X | Fujifilm Global", 2020) It offers several solutions such as being cost effective,
multifunctional and of high quality. Also, the FDR Smart X provides two options including
ceiling suspended X-ray tube arrangements which improves workflow and efficiency for the
radiographers as well as an improved experience for patients who use wheelchairs since it
provides tracking with the upright stand and table detectors. Another option is a floor
mounted X-ray tube that augments the imaging systems available in any corporation in the
healthcare sector, providing flexibility to install in a restricted space. Furthermore, it enables
storing preset positions along with automatically moving the wall stand to those positions,
allowing a quick workflow. It even comes with removable grids, tube head and Bucky that
enables automatic tracking, and dual reference rotation, which enables exposure to more
areas without having to take out the panel and inserting it again in a rotated direction.
In addition, its raising patient table has a height adjustable floating top table can carry
up to 300kg, which is available with both ceiling and floor mounted systems. The table also
comes with a rotating tray that can be adjusted according to the patients’ position. The trays
have a built in SE cable + connector, where the DR panels would automatically be connected
to the tray once they are set in it without having to handle the cables around the Bucky, thus
improving efficiency. Furthermore, false exposure can be eliminated by the fail safe switch as
X-rays would only be exposed if the panel is inserted inside the Bucky correctly. Also, the
FDR Smart X has a touch screen console on the tube head, allowing easier access to exam
parameters in the X-ray room.
Moreover, this product leads to a unified and advance workflow and offers high
image quality as the detector console and X-ray controller are integrated and work can be
