Supervised Machine Learning Project
This assignment will be used to evaluate your Work Ethics for this course. Completing this assignment will help the instructor to determine your Work Ethics grade by looking at the following:
Planning and organizing skills
Critical thinking
Communication
The project will also be counted as a test grade for the course. Please note: you may not use the same project from a previous term if you are repeating a course or if you took another course that required this project.
Guidelines:
This project is to examine the level of correlation and develop a linear regression between High School Graduation Rate vs Unemployment Rate in the Southern States. You will perform a regression analysis on a given labelled data set and provide a prediction summary.
The following data are the mean spending per pupil and unemployment rate for each state; the data are obtained from the Governing publication, a D.C.-based Congressional Quarterly and the Department of Labor Statistics.

Descriptive statistics:
Find the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation for the data set.
Create a scatter plot for the data set.
Regression Analysis:
Perform a linear regression analysis onto the data set.
Report the correlation coefficient, the equation of the regression function, and make a few predictions base on hypothetical input values.
Write down a summary of your conclusions (How well does the regression fit the values? How correlated are the independent and dependent variables? What does the prediction tell you?).
