DNN for channel estimation and Equalization scheme in FBMC/OQAM system
This paper proposes a simulation platform that
combines Underwater Acoustic (UWA) channel modeling with
Filter Bank Multi-Carrier Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (FBMC-OQAM) based on a Subband Cutting (SBC)
method. This method improves the performance in UWA
communication in the following aspects: FBMC modulation
increases the spectral efficiency due to the absence of cyclic
prefix and the introduction of a re-designed window reduces the out
of band leakage. The SBC method provides a more stable bit
error performance, which benefits from a non-overlapping feature. Simulation becomes an integral part of the development
and evaluation of UWA communication systems. In this paper,
realistic UWA channel characteristics using the BELLHOP
specialized software have been considered in the simulation
model. According to the simulation results, the FBMC-OQAM
system (SBC method) shows better performance than OFDM in horizontal time-varying UWA channels.
