Consultancy Project
Structure of the consultancy report:
There is no one set rule for what a consultancy report will look like. It must be tailored to the client and the consultancy project. The following is examples of sections you could uses:
Title Page
This should briefly but explicitly describe the purpose of the consultancy report or the problem statement. Other details you may include could be your consultancy name, the date and for whom the report is written.
Introduction
The introduction sets the scene for the main body of the report. The aims and objectives of the report should be explained in detail.
Background
Client and market history. (Any problems or limitations in the scope of the report should be identified, and any necessary background history should be included.)
Research & Findings
What research was needed and why. Hypothesis, methodology, results and analysis. What did your research find out and how does that apply to your client.
What does this mean to the client?
Recommendations
What was the problem statement and how do you recommend they use your research to solve this problem.
Appendices
It is important to document what information you found that will be important for the client to reference in the presentation.
You will create the slides and recorded your voice presentation over the top as if it was to be presented to the client in person.
Problem Statement: SOBROM, a medium sized business who specialises in “Heavily Embellished dresses and wigs”, they manage their inventory manually which is time consuming.
• Task: As a consultant, your task is to introduce an “Inventory Management System” to SOBROM in order to ensure they are able to manage their inventory more effectively.
• Produce a consultancy report which will be submitted to SOBROM detailing the “Inventory Management”, what it does, how it would benefit the organisation, etc.
• Please note, my consultancy name is “KJM Consultant”.
• Do remember to add notes in the notes section, as I would be recording my voice over the presentation.
