COURSE CODE BCO112 COURSE NAME Oral Communication PROFESSOR: Task brief & rubrics
Task
You will present an individual presentation between 8-10 minutes long followed by questions from the audience. You will roleplay presenting a persuasive pitch of a business idea to a team of business angels who will decide if they will fund your start-up project. You should:
- Identify a gap in a market that your idea will fill, the specific target audience and the product or service´s unique selling points.
- Your experience and background in the market.
- State and justify the amount of funding that you will need to grow the business and estimated projections for profit margins.
You must create a presentation using PowerPoint or other PC compatible software. This should be uploaded in PDF format by the 21st of February 2021 via the moodle and presented in class either the week beginning the 22nd of February 2021 or the week beginning the 1st of March 2021.
Formalities:
- At least one cover slide, 7 content slides and a bibliography slide must be included.
- the Bibliography slide should adhere to Harvard Referencing standards.
Submission: In class presentation, either the week beginning the 22nd of February 2021 or the week beginning the 1st of March 2021.
Weight: This task is worth 30% of your total grade for this subject.
It assesses the following learning outcomes:
- Outcome 1: The use of verbal and non-verbal communication to deliver a persuasive presentation.
- Outcome 2: The use of rhetorical and organizational techniques in presentation preparation and delivery.
