ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Week 3: Part 2 Submit 5-6 Articles to Use for the Table of Evidence (TOE) (5 points)

Houser (2018) states “the literature review is a critical component of the research process. It provides an in-depth analysis of what is known and what is missing related to a specific subject” (p. 109).

For Part 2 of the Application assignment you will complete a literature sear to find a minimum of 5-6 peer-reviewed research articles, related to the problem you identified in Part 1. You will submit these articles to enable your professor and review them for approval to use for Part 3 of this assignment. The professor will verify you have selected research studies and that they relate to your clinical problem. Once approved you will use 3 of these articles to complete Part 3.

To complete this assignment you will be meeting this course outcome:

SLO 2: Differentiate between quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches to research.

SLO 4: Utilize electronic healthcare databases to search, retrieve, and critically review scholarly research articles as they relate to clinical practice.

Instructions:

Narrow down the problem to a specific population (e.g. adults in ICU, pediatrics patients post-surgery).
Search the literature for 5-6 research studies related to your clinical problem.
Download and save, preferably as pdf’s. Save each article using the following naming convention:
“Last Name of First Author Year of Publication.docx” (e.g. Roberts 2018.docx)
Upload the articles as attachments on Canvas under the appropriate assignment.

Note: the sooner you submit your 5-6 articles for review by your professor, the sooner you can begin working on Part 3
