Written Assignment: Application of Linear Regression (Counts 2% of course grade)

For this assignment you will write a two-paragraph description of a proposed application of linear regression. You should pick a topic in your academic major for the application domain (Finance, Accounting, Management, etc.). Feel free to use any resources you require to research this assignment, but you must produce a description that is in your own words. That is, do not use an idea from someone else in this class or just copy and paste text from a resource.
In your assignment you should address the following:
- Identify the dependent variable (the thing you are predicting) and the independent variable(s)
- Discuss a scenario where the full model is significant. That is, how would you know if the full model is significant?
- Discuss what information the coefficient(s) of the significant independent variable(s) would provide to the decision-maker, and how that information would be useful.
- Discuss what your next step(s) would be if the model turned out to be insignificant.
Your assignment length should be two paragraphs using Times Roman 12-point font. A paragraph is approximately 7 full sentences (for the full two-paragraph assignment there should be a word-count of approximately 150 words).

You should write in complete sentences only (no bullet points) and there must be no grammatical errors.
