How to proceed on creating the Power Point slide research project:
Include a brief introduction of your topic, a statement of the problem/issue and why it is relevant for this course. Also, formulate a good research question to guide your work.
Provide a brief overview of the history of the topic including relevant people, places, events, policies, statistics, etc…
Discuss the current status of the topic, interesting statistics, what which theories from this class (Structural Functionalism, Conflict Theory, Symbolic Interactionist Theory and at least one (two is better) of the Feminist Theories from our course) have strong contributions to this topic.
Summarize with brief thoughts on where this gender topic/issue is going. Support this summary with your sociological imagination and knowledge learned during this course.
Integrate key terms and concepts from the course material and always use proper references in ASA, APA, Chicago, or MLA format.
Do include tables, graphs, photos, video links, and graphics that include references on the slide where embedded.
This is a professional college project, and you should not use “I” or first person in your research project with exceptions for statements of topic purpose and relevance and in the conclusion area where you may make suggestions for further research or additional solutions in the area of your topic. All student work should reflect a proper sociological approach and therefore you will avoid opinions as to the right or wrong nature of your topic. It should be an academic examination of the various sociological positions of your topic.
