the relationship between language, literature and the environment
Write an essay that addresses a current issue that is undergoing discussion or debate that concerns literature. To avoid making generalisations, the issue you explore should be grounded in specific contexts and/or examples (for e.g. analysing the ideological assumptions shaping the NSW high school curriculum or addressing the impact of rising sea levels in X context). Your essay should also identify what’s at stake in the discussion of the issue and map out the different perspectives or positions that make up the debate. The ultimate aim of your essay is to make an argument about how this particular issue should be understood or addressed.
