When conducting a community assessment, some information concerning the topic is vital and must be included in the research. Information such as; the demographic composition of migrants and seasonal head start families and children, children with disabilities, people’s opinions regarding nutrition, health and social services, community resources must be considered. The workgroup comes up with data collection strategies—the strategies aids in data gathering by identifying the essential information required. Data strategies explain the nature of data needed. For example, it might state out that the data collected should include historical data. Different data may be collected from other places. To get relevant data concerning community health, research should be conducted in hospitals and clinics, child care facilities, and medical providers. In contrast, data concerning education can be gathered from learning institutions and education boards.
For accuracy, the data collected should be reviewed and analyzed. The data analysis process may engage some activities such as; assembling, reviewing the gathered data, identifying important issues concerning the topic, and examining the information relating to the unaccomplished requirements. Sharing the results clears the way for the district to get reach to important information that concerns them (Savage, Kub & Groves, 2019). The community can use the data in various community developments and improvements. Members of the community have the right to such information since such research usually results from their participation. Information distribution efforts are essential as it gives community members a summarized content of some development results and progress in their region. The data dissemination is one of the critical tools for community development as it enlightens members on the proceedings.
Data analysis should be used to make the decision based on the findings. The findings should point out various trends, upcoming and existing, that might have effects on the community’s life. Strategies and solutions to solve any problem affecting people’s quality of life must be put in place. With such information, a community development task will be easier to perform. In making decisions, one should also prioritize the most critical issues to the community, such as community health and improved food and nutrition. Also, there is the need to mark various areas that require different services. It is crucial to set specific criteria that would define the other groups of people in the community requiring additional assistance.
