PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACH IS TO THE TELEPLAY
Use MLA format for the heading information, the header and the title.
Essays less than 600 words or more than 900 words will lose marks.
Please provide an accurate word count at the end of the essay
Essays cannot be more than four paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. You cannot write a third body paragraph.
You should aim for three supporting details and a maximum of 12 sentences per body paragraph.
Note: If you need to add sentences to the essay in order to meet the minimum word count, you can add a fourth supporting detail and 15 sentences in a paragraph, but you should try to avoid this.
You should include a title that identifies your essay subject. Be sure to include the author’s first and last name as well as the name of the text in brackets. E.g.:
The Loss of Tradition in Roch Carrier’s “A Secret Lost in Water”
Unless it is for the opening hook, you cannot use secondary sources for the introduction or for, for that matter, the essay itself. All the arguments you make need to be your own.
If you plan to use a famous quotation as part of your opening hook please add the source in brackets in the introduction.
Textual quotations count towards your word count.
Do not overuse direct quotations in order to make your word count (maximum = 20% of the essay can be in quotations).
For in-text citations, put the page number in brackets after the quote.
Example: “Life was always around us, vibrant and luminous” (7).
As this assignment is emulating an in-class essay, you do not need to include a work cited.
