Activators of TREK2 potassium channels
Results are given from whole-cell electrophysiology results. Step-ramp voltage protocol was used. There are 3 different
drugs that have been used on two different channels (TREK1 and TREK2). Also control results have been given (BL-1249). However the control on each spreadsheet is a separate control. The current has been measured before and after the drug was given, using this a current density can be calculated. This has been put on a final page of the spreadsheets and a % enhancement has been calculated from with the drug present and when it is absent.
I need graphs to be made comparing the effect of each drug on each channel and how they differ. And comparing the results to the control. These can be done in similar manner to this paper on section 3.3 :

Statistical analysis must be done on the results.
– A paired t-test comparing the current before and after the compound was given. So there will be 6 separate comparisons and a p-value to be obtained.
– A unpaired t-test on the difference between the two channels (TREK1 and TREK2) and the % enhancement that each compound gives. So there will be 3 comparisons.
– And to compare which compound out of the three was more effective for TREK2
The statistical analysis can be done by whichever software you choose to be the best.
The word count goes to explaining the results. In the brief it states as if someone was being guided through the results. Any text between figures or graphs should explain what is being shown.
