Knowing what you read from the article and from articles in the literature, how will clinical decision-making change? We know it will. We all have to adapt in a changing mental healthcare environment. What will be the seen and unforeseen factors that will change the way we diagnosis and treat patients? Will, for example, community-based changes in mental health care change the way we practice? Will insurance and health cost dictate?
I want you to look for articles that touch on this topic and let everyone know what you found.
Read the article. Do not get mired in the details, but try to get an understanding of what the authors are trying to tell you. There are some interesting points in how we think of diagnoses and symptoms. Take those interesting points and expand on them. Pick two things you learned from the readings and find one relevant or related article from your library journals that contributes something new to our understanding. Let’s make this a robust deep discussion and not repeat that which we already know. My point in doing this exercise to expand and challenge us on how we see see symptoms and diagnoses. We do not want to be myopic in practice.
You do not need a cover page for discussion, if applicable, please include references at the end of your submission. Your discussion should be about 100 words, responses to peers should be about 50 words. Write about three paragraphs. Please do not submit as attachments. These posts should be innovative, creative, exploratory, thought provoking, and relevant. Students who include content from the literature with citations typically earn the highest grades.
