FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHINGS: Identifying Methods That Improve Adult Learners’ Competencies
This research starts with an overview of the approaches, methods, and techniques for teachers’ French as a second language (FSL) teaching. And the significance of assessing students’ skills like reading, writing, speaking and listening. Besides, it covers the relevance of new trends and technologies, which are better for second language learning and teaching. This thesis examines the current language teaching trends based on French-language publications and articles of essential authors and researchers. The first reviews concentrate on the historical development of language teaching methods, from the grammar-translation method, the fundamental way, the audiolingual method to the communicative approach. Also, the research examines several findings that emphasize the significance of the current communicative language teaching. It also attempts to master the current foreign language FSL by implementing an original and innovative curriculum that stresses content learning as much as it does teaching methods. Knowledge must stretch beyond its integration of the core materials; it should range from practices and exercises to discourse and communication activities, and to the point where there is besides the linguistic skills an explicit knowledge about a comprehensive representation of speaking the foreign language explicitly
