Life Span Interview

Conduct three interviews throughout the course of class as part of your Life Span project. 3 part project with final summary of 3 different developmental stages.1 paragraph on expectations for this developmental stage based on what you have learned in class (textbook/lectures), 1-2 summary paragraphs per topic, a summary table with 4 bullet points per topic (for a total of 16 bullet points), and a 1 paragraph reaction on what you learned about this developmental stage and how it compared to your expectations. Include the age (in years) of the person you interviewed and the method of interview (i.e., in person, video, phone).

This is the first of three interviews you will conduct. Interview someone from one of the following stages of development defined in your textbook:

How you gather information is up to you. Be sure to ask open-ended (e.g., “How would you describe your sleep currently?”) instead of closed (e.g., “Do you get enough sleep?”) questions. You will ask your interviewee to discuss (1) mind (2) body (3) spirituality and (4) community. In the table below you will see example questions tailored to these developmental stages to get you started. Also consult the table in the front cover of your textbook for inspiration about topics of interest for developmentalists.

Part 1 Middle Childhood “Jeff Age 11”
Part 2 Middle Adulthood “Mykeshia Age 31”
Part 3 Late Adulthood “Danita Age 61”
