Can I request to have a 1,000 word draft first including a contents page, possibly an abstract but also the introduction.

This Dissertation is for an Optometry Undergrad course.

This is the full title : “Should we be protecting patients from blue light? . The possible effects of short wavelength light have been discussed in the press recently and have been linked to several ocular conditions including age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. But how true are these articles? The eye has natural protective mechanisms and protection is also available in the form of filters on screens, spectacle lenses and intraocular lenses, so is this protection necessary? This dissertation will critically review the current evidence to answer this question and the evidence of the current forms of protection available to patients.”

I also need to include an abstract as described in the guidelines. And a contents page. I do also need to include a short paragraph on how the articles were searched for, with inclusion criterias etc. My supervisor said it doesn’t need to be super long but also just include maybe what search terms were used.

I tried doing this dissertation and I used ovidonline to search Embase, Cochrane Controlled Trials, Cochrane Systematic Reviews, Medline, Ovid Emcare. I used search terms: short adj1 wavelength adj2 light, blue adj2 light, high-energy light and blue adj3 filter, blue adj3 block Filters and
spectacle lenses, intra ocular lenses, intraocular lens or intra ocular lens or IOLS and eyes natural protective mechanism and eye conditions e.g. cataract, AMD or ARMD or Age-Related Macular Degeneration, macular near/3 degeneration , Cataracts , cataract*
ocular dicease or ocular condition

My supervisor said this report is about finding the best available evidence and being critical

i also need to create a shorter title
