PART 1 There are five imaginary surfaces that make up an airport’s navigable airspace. Most aviation accidents happen in the primary surface, and they are usually the flavor of runway incursions. Do some research and tell the class why you think these runway incursions happen. Then take a moment to discuss some of the technical and the non-technical initiatives that are intended to make airport surface operations safer. classmate 1. The presence of the imaginary surfaces is applied in public-use airports. Imaginary surfaces are valuable in deciding impediments in the air route. The primary surfaces are centered on the runway. Runway incursions majorly cause runway accidents. Understanding conditions that trigger the incursions is significant. Therefore, a solution to ensure that airport operations are safer is oriented. Runway obstructions happen under different conditions. Essentially, incursions are the leading causes of accidents in airports. Incursions occur mainly due to an accident between a vehicle or a person and the aircraft (Mrazova, 2014). The runway is a restricted area wherefore. If a vehicle or a person is found there, it can cause hazardous consequences. Also, such incursions occur as a result of the pilot violating the FAA regulations. Besides, it can be caused when the air-traffic controller makes a wrong order on landing, causing the minimum separation distance between planes not adhered to, resulting in crushing. Nonetheless, obstructions occur as a result of mismanagement of the runway. It occurs when the runway is rugged and presence of potholes.

Several initiatives have been accorded to ensure that airport surface operations are safer. Controlled movements, especially in the runways, will essentially improve safety in the runways. Nevertheless, ensuring proper lighting on the runway is essential, especially at night. Pilot training is crucial. It effectively provides skills that overly reduce the runway obstructions. Generally, I would advocate on the aspect of clearing away the runways to avoid accidents. Essentially, it is the leading course of accidents in airports. Therefore, it crucial that much emphasis should be on eradicating the same.

I wish everyone had a glorious weekend, and I cannot believe we are in week eight already. The most significant runaway invasions occur because of poor marking, lack of signposts that tell direction on the runway. Around 67% of all runway accidents happened because the pilot did not inform of an end of the path. Or delinquent or because a car or a laborer at the airport parking on the runway inappropriately. The best method to make airports safe is to improve the signs in larger airports. That will help decrease accidents at the airport and guarantee that people are at the right place at the right time. Also, the administration of the airports should recraft their runways and ensure that the land around the airport is free.
Any airports should relocate because of the topographical environment of the place that they establish. Some of those airports are the ones designated in rough areas. Such airports should relocate, and the ones found in the regions that experience harsh climatic conditions that can impair the pilot’s vision as they make for take-off or arrival. While rare, any disturbances that happen on an airfield, especially a runway incursion, can have catastrophic effects (Wells & Young, 2011, p. 476).
Here are a few safety nets and initiatives that help reduce the runway incursions and control the whole situation by the flight aircrew and others utilizing the maneuvering area, specifically regarding their location concerning active runways.
1.Support situation experience by ground air traffic controllers and TWR concerning vehicle and aircraft progress and character near the active runways.
2. Utilize the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) display by the flight crew to provide situational awareness of the other aircraft both on the ground and the air.
3. Practical flight crew utilize the Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) placed.
4. After International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standard Phraseology permanently decreases the difficulty.
5. The role of traffic controllers where the cabin crew is not native. English speakers should please pay attention to their speech clarity and use only standard phraseology to transfer the message.
I need to promote regular training sessions for the entire aviation industry. That will make the workers stay active and alert always and would also reduce the runway aggression.
