History
CR’s are intended to be critical analyses of the texts of each unit. This means they are not summaries, nor are they merely opinion. A good CR will demonstrate an understanding of the central theses of the readings and relevant theories or vocabulary terms through a critical lens.
900 ~ 1100 words
at least two (2) unit texts discussed in-depth
clear thesis articulated
no more than 15% Turnitin score
correct citation of sources
Content
CR’s must be the student’s own original content. They are very short papers, so there should be little-to-no quoting or paraphrasing of information. The strong majority of the paper will be the student’s own original analysis of the week’s readings.

Questions to consider in writing a CR include: What is the main point of the texts? What are some significant terms or concepts, and how are they used? How does the text relate to the main topic of the course? See the Critical Reflection Paper Guide
CR’s which go above and beyond to contribute new ideas and analysis may be awarded extra credit.
