Managing and Leading Organizations
After utilizing the assigned readings and videos from modules 5-8 prepare a paper that answers the following questions utilizing the concepts addressed in all of the student learning outcomes.
1. Be sure to provide discussion that identifies differences between managing and leading, provide examples of management functions within the managerial levels, explain how the decision making process in used within various organizations, and also discusses how differing leadership theories are utilized.
2. Describe how both managers and leaders affect and change corporate culture in today’s business environment.
3. Discuss why it is so very critical for leaders to understand organizational structure, and how this understanding can help in managing people and resources.
4. Why is it so important for leaders to understand about diversity within the business community, and how does this knowledge help them become better leaders.
5. Describe several instances within business that require a company to adapt and change. Discuss how leaders implement what
accomplishments are needed for the change to be successful.
Writing expectations include competency in the following:
Sentence Structure
Punctuation
Spelling
Focus and Organization of Paper
Do not forget to include a comprehensive introduction and conclusion to your paper.
Additional Writing Guidelines:
Must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins and typed in 12-point Times New Roman.
Your Essay should have a Title Page and Reference Page. Essays should be proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes.
You must cite all texts used, (use three sources) including page numbers to avoid plagiarism.
Paper should be 5-8 written pages. (not including Reference and Title page)
HAVE FUN! Do not write me a prescription from numbers 5 thru 8, but teach me something.
Since this is a comprehensive paper….the goal is to answer the provided questions by utilizing all of the SLO’s that have been discussed during our weekly discussions…..your paper will be graded by how well you can incorporate all of them into your discussion. It will also give me a better understanding of how well you understand the course content.
