In your paper, you will do all of the following:

•Describe the author’s construction of the case; Make sure to include (i) the point of constructing this case for the author’s project, and (ii) the key features of this case that are relevant to your assessment;

•Identify whether the author claims that the agent in the case is morally responsible for their actions, and explain the author’s reasoning or the argument(s) for this claim; Make sure to include the context, background, and assumptions that are relevant and helpful to understanding of the author’s argument(s), and (ii) be charitable in your explanation of the argument(s);

•Raise(at least)one challenge for the author’s argument(s), and explain why it is a plausible and strong challenge;

•Consider how the author might reply to your challenge;

•Take a stance on whether the author’s reply succeeds, or whether your challenge stands.

The paper will be graded based on the following five criteria:

•Completion of the given task: Did you understand and directly respond to all parts of the given prompt without irrelevancies of digressions?

•Command of the material: Does your paper consistently display a strong command and understanding of the author\’s project and the arguments(and if relevant, the author’s contribution to the relevant debate)?

•The cogency of your argumentation: Does your paper consistently display cogent reasoning and argumentation that does not omit necessary steps?

•The originality of your ideas and approach: Does your paper contain original, insightful perspectives, ideas, or examples that were not already discussed in class or the assigned/cited readings?•Clarity of your writing:Is your writing clear, grammatical, and well organized, with a clear structure and an easy-to-follow line of thoughts throughout the paper?
