Well I don’t know about everyone else, but Tom when I first saw him did not scream PR. I thought that is interesting because you really don’t know who is behind all the different PR events and social media. On a global scale PR is a different monster, due to the fact that you are catering to different cultures more so that just a local business or national, at least on a smaller scale. Globally there is a lot to think about, such as religion, culture, population and also how they are all intertwined. As PR you have multiple avenues to take for success, one being events or conventions. Catering to those the populous and what they see as good and comfortable. The other aspect is your employees. I loved how tom had talked about when the big boss was coming to the plant, he forewarned the workers instead of letting them get caught off guard, and in turn the employees were prepared and it was a great visit that boosted moral. This is something everyone everywhere could do to create that “I got your back” feeling. When it it comes to reaching genders, its basically catering or informing what your business model and your ethics toward gender, especially in todays world this is huge. Companies all have different products, and those products are made for certain lifestyles, I would say that social media plays a big role here, today people goto the Internet or social media to find there lifestyle gear. So being tapped into twitter, Instagram, face book, and things of that nature really boost the lifestyle of your product to those searching. Something that PR professionals have to pay close attention to is being sensitive with everything they do so to not offend or put someone down. This alone has taken brands and upcoming companies down. Not because the product was bad but because the PR aspect was not given enough attention.  I like how tom said that he used his background as a journalist to keep his from bias and to just be strait forward on both sides and not try and sugar coat it, which is what gave PR professionals a bad name early on.
