This assignment is an overview of the key terms and concepts of Criminal Justice System. Also, it is a discussion and/or analysis as well as providing solutions to reducing violent crime.

1). Begin with about 1/3 of your discussion on the major components of the Criminal Justice
System and how they work individually (roles and responsibilities) and together as a system.
2). In the remainder of your report: analyze, discuss the crime problem in East St. Louis,
Illinois. Include in the discussion which index crime presents the most problem vs the U.S.
average for the same crime and which one presents the least problem vs. the U.S. average.
3). Provide solutions to the Mayor of the city of East St. Louis, Illinois on how to reduce or
continue to reduce their violent crime. ,
NOTE: In your solutions to the Mayor, include how each component of the criminal justice system
will play a role in reducing crime in his city.
