For my doctoral capstone, I need to create a curriculum product consisting of a motivational interviewing instructor’s manual and a corresponding participant guide. The first draft submitted to the school received the following response: “The Instructor’s Manual is showing a high similarity between your document and other sources. Safe assign indicates 35% similarity and Grammarly is showing even higher with 65% attributed to the TNT Manual 08 -Motivational Interviewing ( TNT Manual Nov 08 – Motivational interviewing (studylib.net). Some of the lessons are written word for word from this source. The similarity between your document and the references used has to be below 20% and this will be carefully checked by your committee during the review. I recommend that you paraphrase these lessons and then credit each one as being available from this source. Or remove them altogether and create your own. You will also need to paraphrase any other similar text.”
