Response 1:
Read the pdf on “Why are so many college students…” and then in a response of 200-300 words (one page), answer these questions:
- Are you surprised by the data in the article? Why or why not?
- What does the author say students can do to gain skills?
- Personally, what can YOU do to refine your skills?

1.First, give another example of healthy striving from your life–a time when you worked hard for excellence, free of shame and fear in the process.
- Next, give an example of when you worked hard for perfection but were driven by fear of failure and judgment.
- Looking back, how do you view these very different struggles? (Was one more valid than the other? Was one more rewarding than the other?)
- Choose three quotes from this short video.
- To what extent do you agree with each?
Response 3:
Regarding this assignment, many students report relief that others face the same hurdles that they do. Anxiety plagues almost all of us. For example, out of 260 students last semester, 5 reported no significant anxiety. Five out of two hundred sixty! WE ARE NOT ALONE.
