Monday morning monitoring is an easygoing read book with management lessons. Given through a story about manager Jiff and his mentor Toney meeting every Monday morning. There are ten valuable lessons in the book, this paper will circles around selected lessons that may be used in becoming a better leader.

In the chapter “keeping the mean thing the main thing” it’s discussing a very principal role, which is to stay focus and understand on the mean object and keep the goal clear and anything that push or move the goal away, it becomes the leaders responsibility to correct the path and support his team to stay focused on the purpose of there job. Also, in this chapter there is another important rule that is communication. For example, when Jiff faced some issues with his boss because he only ignored a very simple contraption, which is to opinion what he needs from his boss and what his boss require him to accomplish. From these two lessons a leader can benefit from focusing on the main thing plus communicating with his team and bosses that in return will make every one concentrated and understand what they are doing.

In another chapter “Escaping in the manager land” that categorize employees into three segments super stars 30%, middle stars 50%, falling star 20%. A leader must distinguish between the employees in who is who, after identifying the falling stars the manager or leader work is to regulate there

Number in the company and do not just “ Ignore it” due to the effect that they can do to the rest of the employees by not doing their job. As a person who is in the future may take a leader position, knowing how to separate between employees and deleting the element of ignoring falling star. It’s going to raise the standard of work in the company and make super stars and middle stars thrive more and give more to the company.

Talking about standard in the chapter “ The “ Do Right” Rule” clear some of the gray areas that managers deal with. Some employees will shift from super stars and become a falling star, like Jiff finding out one of his best employees drinking wail he is in the job. Wail this creates stressful circumstances a manager must cast his emotions aside and follow his integrity and rules. Doing the right thing is not always easy but by obeying the rules a set of standard will climb and make the bar high. From this chapter a person can understand that by becoming a manager and a leader, the person in this position must act accordingly to the policies to set a high standard for the rest of the employees.

A part in the book talks about the most important thing that is having enthusiasm and attitude. A leader must have a vey good enthusiasm on life. It cannot be faked and every one around could since an enthusiastic leader from a depressed leader. Learning from the past and not letting previous mistakes hold us down from progressing is a golden lesson for any person who wants to become in a leading positions. Attitude can play a huge part in keeping a person enthusiasm and continue to give to his surrounding. Many things cannot be controlled except a person attitude. Because it comes from the inside not the outside. A will learned lesson of attributes of every successful people share.
