Multinational companies are also strongly influenced by different regulatory policies in other countries which could support productivity in the company. In some countries, corporate tax is not high since the country looks toward encouraging corporations to invest in the region (Button, 2018). In such a case, large companies can get the inspiration to set up production assets in the country to benefit from the low corporate tax requested by the government. Essentially, globalization has partially allowed for an easier transition into new markets which offer new possibilities for companies.

Background of Carrefour in Poland

The influence of globalization has impacted large multinational corporations like Carrefour to venture into other countries. Carrefour is a French multinational retailing company that has a presence in various countries around the world. In Poland, the first Carrefour store was opened in 1997 as a retailing store and since then have progressively adapted and improved in the Polish market (Carrefour Poland, 2020). Initially, the retailing chain started with a single retail store, however, today Carrefour in Poland is managed more than 900 stores across the country with 6 different formats including; wholesale and discount shops, hypermarkets, supermarkets, e-shops, convenience stores, and specialized stores. Currently, Carrefour Poland has more than 16000 professional employees who undertake duties in different departments across multiple branches. The immense growth of Carrefour in Poland indicates the supporting factors of globalization for multinational companies.

Carrefour Operational Structure in Poland

Since the inception of Carrefour in Poland, the organization has grown immensely with various departments put in place to improve efficiency. The operational structure of Carrefour Poland is broad and aimed at the expansion of the organization. Aside from the retail chain stores owned by the company, it also incorporates an e-commerce department, financial services, logistics and franchising (Carrefour Company, 2020). Carrefour has ventured into different operational methods of growing in the Polish market through improving the efficiency of specific departments. Through e-commerce and financial services, the organization can tap the consumer market to be a major player in the retailing industry. Likewise, logistics and franchising have enabled the company to continue growing and expanding in the new market.
