2. You must have 13 sources in total. 1 Scholarly Journal, 5 Primary Source Documents, and 3 Books. I would prefer them to be the ones I got my research from, but you are the professional writer so whatever floats your boat as long as it is a good and coherent argument.
3. The thesis you MUST argue is ” While it is a widely held belief that in the 19th century, progress in the newly developed fields of psychiatry and psychology brought on the widespread establishment of insane asylums; it was actually an effort mainly propagated by sociopolitical factors. These factors include the need for separate institutions to house unstable citizens who were incapable of conforming to societal norms nor contribute to our budding capitalist economy, as well the Second Great Awakening of American society which empowered benevolent activists who fought for social reform.”

I have provided attached as a pdf the instructions my teacher provided as well as the begining of the paper I attempted for some reference as to what it should look like. you dont have to use my work, my teacher actually thought it was too unfocused because my topic is suposed to only cover the 19th century.
