Enterprise Risk Management

Conduct some background research and select one (1) company that has a significant presence in
the “digital industry” (i.e. a company where products and/or services that are mainly transacted
online and form a significant component of its business). The company may be of any size though
you may find it more manageable if you select a publicly traded company of medium size.
Utilizing the materials covered from Lecture 1 to 5 (inclusive), and any other risks deemed
appropriate, identify and analyze the top five (5) risks. In response to each of the risks you should
indicate actions that can be taken to mitigate the threats posed by the risks that you have identified
or take advantage of the opportunities so created. The actions you propose should provide a well-
supported (and researched) sustainable growth plan for your chosen company. What is meant by
a sustainable growth plan is a plan that ensures the survival of the company in the face of the risks
that you have identified and/or grows through taking opportunities by taking actions relating to the
risks that you have identified.

Structure of the assignment:

1. Current State
a. Length: 250 words excluding references
b. Details: Describe the type of business and the types of products/services
offered. Identify the major ways in which the organization adds value.

2. Analysis and Recommendation
a. Length: 1,250 words excluding references
b. Details: Critically analyze the practices and challenges faced and present a well-
researched “sustainable growth plan” (i.e. provide an explanation of mitigation
action for identified risks).
This may include, but not be limited to, revenue generation, minimization of
liabilities, increase efficiency etc.) for your chosen company.
3. Appendix and References
a. Length: Maximum five (5) pages of materials that help to support your paper (i.e.
graphs, charts, tables, references, etc.). In most cases you may only need (1) one or
(2) two pages.

Make sure you provide references identifying the source(s) of
information on the company you have chosen and, more thank likely, each of the
five (5) risks you have identified.

b. Details: Appendix and References should be insert at the end of your paper.
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
