We live in an era where technology is changing quickly. Analytics methods themselves are not much
different from those that existed a few decades ago. But the context in which they operate is radically
different and still changing. Faster machines, more data sources, more embedded intelligence, better
connected decisions are just a few of the operating assumptions today and in the coming future.
So our personal success today counts on us being connected to technology decisions that will still be
relevant a decade from now. In the short term this means being adaptive, as part of teams, to solve
the problems of today. In the only slightly longer term it will mean finding places in the right future
technologies that embed analytics in decision making of that future. It’s hard because it requires some
element of future prediction.
In this discussion, identify the trends that you see as having the greatest impact on how the future
success of your projects is defined and realized. What factorsnot hypeboth inside and outside of
the organization might cause ambiguity or difficulty in your ability to succeed? Then, identify what you
will do to ensure that you continue learning about the trend, both while you are in this program and
after you graduate.

that you find interesting for your context? How will some of the factors impact your context in ways
that others will not? What can you draw from or add to these posts to help your discussion group
develop a better framework for ensuring your success.
