The primary goal of the lifestyle assignment is for students to understand how their everyday food choices and activities they engage affect their weight, health, and overall well-being. You will be evaluated in how well you personalize and incorporate knowledge obtained during this course to assess your current health, make an educated prognosis about your future health and well-being, and propose changes to maintain and promote wellness, as well as prevent disease.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY: Record 5-days’ worth of all your food intake, drinks, and activities. Evaluate your recordings using the My Diet Analysis tool and begin to write your assignment by incorporating concepts and knowledge gained from the following chapters: wellness, psychological health, nutrition, exercise, weight management, cardiovascular health, and cancer. Reflect on your current diet and activity level, and finally put together a personal food and activity plan by making sure it is feasible based on your lifestyle, budget, and habits. Your revised plan should promote overall wellness and longevity.
STUDENT REPORT: There are three different parts to this assignment. You will create reports using MyDiet Analysis Tool. You will need to insert those reports to your assignment. You will need to download the following reports: Actual Intake-vs-Recommended MyFoodList My Plate Energy Balance You will write a 4-page paper, evaluating your lifestyle. Your written assignment needs to cover the following: Describe yourself and your lifestyle (sex, height, current weight, and activity level) Describe your diet and activity level based on the recorded information Do you see any patterns? For example. Are you eating enough fruits and are you getting an adequate amount of nutrients based on your nutritional needs for your age group? Why did you choose these foods? (Do you live on campus? Do you live with your parents? Or you simply prefer the flavor of certain foods). Explain. What are your main obstacles as a student to adhere to a healthy lifestyle (hurried lifestyle, availability of foods, cost, etc.) If you continue eating and exercising as you do where do you see yourself in 20 years from now (refer to the nutrition, exercise, weight management, cardiovascular and cancer chapter) Based on your observations what could you change and why? Provide a revised food/exercise plan (for one day only) that will promote life-long wellness in a table format. Pay attention to the portion you are suggesting.
