The completed, final project paper must be a minimum of twenty (20) typed pages in
length. Students may write more, but no more than twenty-five (25) pages. This twentypage (20) minimum does not include the title page, abstract, and works cited pages as a
part of the minimum page count.
§ Students that simply submit their ten (10) page draft again will not receive credit for this
assignment. Since this assignment is worth 500 points toward your final grade, your final
grade will be greatly damaged.
§ Your final paper must be persuasive, well-organized, free of grammatical errors, and
include appropriate sources and proper citations supporting a clearly stated thesis.
§ A “Works Cited” page must be included at the end of your paper.
§ The entire paper must conform to the MLA Handbook, 8th edition.
§ The twenty (20) page paper must contain and make use of a minimum of ten (10)
appropriate and scholarly sources. At least eight (8) of these must be print material, this
includes: books, ebooks, journals, articles and ejournal articles. Students are only allowed
to cite two (2) websites and these must also be scholarly. All sources must be scholarly
and academic. Do not use popular websites such as, ask.com, about.com, or Wikipedia
type websites. You will not receive credit for those citations.
§ The Final Paper must include an abstract. The abstract follows the title page. Please make
sure that you understand the difference between an abstract and an introduction
paragraph. The abstract must be no more than 250 words. Here is a link to the writing
center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill about writing abstracts that you
may find helpful: https://writingcenter.unc.edu/tips-and-tools/abstracts/.
§ The Final Paper must reflect all changes, suggestions, and amendments that have been
made by the instructor on the ten (10) page draft and all other assignments. Failure to do
this will substantially lower your grade. The purpose of this course is for students to learn
how to complete a professional project, therefore being able to understand and make
appropriate changes when asked is an important element in this course.
§ Look at the “Sample Student Final Paper” located under the Week 15 Module. I think
looking carefully at the student example will help give you an idea about what the
finished paper must look like and include.
§ Submit your project through the Drop Box by the due date. Make sure that you do not
submit a blank document. It is up to you to make sure that your assignment was properly
submitted. No credit and no make-up credit will be given if you upload a blank
document. Also, please remember the course policy stating that no late work will be
accepted, and no emailed assignments will be accepted. Your paper must be in the Drop
Box before it closes in order to get credit for the assignment.
