2). Synopsis of Paper:
The authors discuss PSA and the various diagnostic markers associated with diagnosing PSA, both strengths and weaknesses. There is an itemization of the diagnostic markers that are currently known, each with its own descriptors.
3) Usefulness:
a. Contains descriptors of tumor markers and their roles in cancer.
b. Describes significance and provides an image of PSA dynamics as well as PSA isoforms.
c. Page 17 specifically refers to B7-H3 (B7-H4 is only minimally referenced), as well as its potential in targeted therapy.
4. Provide some detail on how of paper:w you can use it and where it will fit in with your Group Project write-up:
This paper outlines tumor markers and usefulness but the limited research into B7-H4 specifically provides the basis of what makes our proposed research significant and useful. There are already many studies underway for B7-H3 as it relates to PCa and this paper provides an opportunity with limited reference to B7-H4 that all of the other tumor markers described and studied do not.
Communication Zoom Meeting:
Started with brief introductions and lab experience.
We agreed to have zoom meetings once a week on. Thus far, Solani and Elaine will set up the zoom meetings as they are the most comfortable thus far. S is going to set up the regular Zoom. We can include A in this rotation once we establish A’s comfort level with this.
We will put our assigned work into our discussion posts (as a document), once we have completed them so that the others can review each one and make suggestions before we come together on
S will set up another zoom for (This allows D to attend as he is an hour behind). At this time, we will review our outline progress thus far and work on improvements and also our references to start the assembly of a cohesive outline that we can submit. The hypothesis will remain for prostate cancer and B7-H4.
Outline Responsibilities: I did narrow these down a bit and will look to the team for corrections as we only have 7 parts to the outline and we sort of assigned the paper parts inadvertently.
